Who Is Fitlike Photography?

Who Is Fitlike Photography?

So who is Fitlike Photography?

I'm Mike, a Moray wedding photographer, a married father of 2 children. Well, not so much kids, more young adults these days.

How Did I Get Into Photography?

I've always taken photos on point and shoot film cameras. But in 2009, I bought myself my first serious digital camera. I quickly outgrew this and purchase a DSLR in 2011. It served me well until I started photographing weddings when I upgraded to professional Nikon cameras.
Before weddings, I mainly photographed landscapes in Moray and joining Moray Camera Club.
I accidentally fell into weddings covering my brother's wedding in 2014, more by accident. Having joined The Societies of Photographers in December 2014 and gaining Licentiate with a landscape panel in April 2015. The following year, covering a friends wedding, but nothing more until I started actively marketing wedding photography in 2017. From 2018 to 2019, I undertook wedding photography and business training to make sure I was at my best.
The business has been growing year on year, until covid hit in March 2020. The one shining light to come out of 2020. In March 2019, I met with a mentor from The Societies of Photographers ( Lenny Smith) to create a panel of wedding photographs to submit as a qualification for Licentiate with The Societies. In April 2020, I got the news I was after. A pass with a wedding qualification at Licentiate.
We are now more than halfway through 2021 time to get my business back on track. As a wedding photographer in Moray, it's been a tough 18 months. Thankfully it looks like things are returning to some form of normality.

The Future

After the last 18 months, all we can do is look forward. I'm taking enquiries and bookings for weddings. Commercial photography for local Moray businesses looking to highlight their brand online is growing. I'm working to build my landscape photography, either in print sales or in landscape photography workshops.
