Photography that sells the feeling, not just the product

Strong commercial photography does more than illustrate what you do. It influences how your business is perceived.

It helps a brand feel established, considered and consistent. It gives customers confidence before they have read a word, made an enquiry or walked through the door.

When the visuals are right, everything feels more aligned. Your website looks sharper, your social media feels more cohesive, and your marketing carries the same level of quality throughout.

That consistency matters. It is often what separates a business that looks premium from one that simply looks present.

Mixed or casual imagery can weaken that impression, even when the work itself is excellent. My role is to create photography that brings your visuals together properly, so your brand feels polished, credible and unmistakably your own.

What I create and why it works

Commercial photography is rarely one thing. Most businesses need a combination of imagery that reflects how they operate and how they want to be seen.

That might include brand photography, headshots, hospitality and tourism imagery, property photography, product photography, or event coverage with a genuine sense of atmosphere. The aim is always the same: to create a body of work that feels consistent, useful and right for the business as a whole.

My approach: calm, planned, and built around your goals

When you enquire, we start with a conversation.

We’ll talk through what your business does, who you want to attract, and where the images will be used, whether that is for a website refresh, social media, a launch, recruitment, a brochure, or a rebrand.

From there, we plan the shoot properly so nothing is left to chance. We can look at location, light, styling, backgrounds and the small details that help the finished work feel polished and consistent. If you or your team are going to be in the photographs, I’ll guide things in a way that feels natural and easy, without anything stiff or overdone.

Simple direction, done properly, so you still look like yourselves, just at your best.

On the shoot day: efficient, relaxed, and professional

Most clients start by saying they are not especially comfortable in front of the camera.

That is completely normal. The process is calm, organised and straightforward, so you are not left wondering what to do. You can focus on the job at hand while I focus on creating the visuals around it.

The aim is to produce imagery that feels genuine, confident and well put together. The kind of photographs that help your business look credible, established and consistent.

Photography is powerful. Video can take it further.

More businesses are now using short-form video alongside photography because it helps people connect with a brand more quickly and gives them a stronger feel for the people, place or product behind it.

That might mean a few short behind-the-scenes clips, a walkthrough, team footage, or simple movement-based content that adds another layer to your website, social media or advertising. If video would strengthen the project, I can build that into the shoot in a way that feels seamless.

What you’ll receive

After the session, you’ll receive a professionally edited set of images ready to use across your website, marketing and social media.

Not just a folder of photographs that look good, but a body of work that is genuinely useful to the business. The kind of imagery that helps your brand feel more polished, more consistent and more trustworthy wherever people come across it.

If your business needs stronger visuals

If you need commercial photography in Elgin, Inverness, Aberdeen or the Highlands, and want natural, premium imagery that feels considered and useful, I’d love to hear about your project.

We can start with a call or a meeting, talk through what you need, and plan something that fits the business properly.

FAQ

What types of commercial photography do you offer?

I photograph a mix of brand and business work, including personal branding, corporate headshots, hospitality, property, tourism, product photography and behind-the-scenes coverage. The focus is always the same: creating imagery that looks professional, consistent and true to your brand.

I’m not confident on camera, so can you help with direction?

Absolutely. Most people feel the same at first. I’ll guide you in a relaxed way that keeps things natural, without awkward posing or forced smiles. You’ll look like yourself, just on a very good day.

How do we plan the shoot so it feels intentional rather than random?

We start with what the images are for. Whether that is a website refresh, social content, a launch, recruitment, or a brochure, we plan around the goal from the beginning. That way, the shoot feels organised and purposeful, and you get images you will actually use.

Do you also offer commercial video?

Yes, and it works brilliantly alongside photography. Short, simple video clips can add atmosphere, movement and personality to your website and social media. If it suits the project, we can build that into the session from the start.

Do you work with businesses across different sectors?

Yes. I photograph a range of businesses across hospitality, tourism, property, retail, services and independent brands. The approach stays the same: understanding what makes the business distinctive, then creating imagery that feels consistent, professional and useful across the places your customers see it.

Where do you work?

I’m based in Elgin, Moray, and I regularly cover Inverness, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and the Scottish Highlands. If your project is further afield, just let me know. I’m always happy to travel where needed.

How long does it take to receive the finished images?

Turnaround depends on the size and scope of the shoot, but commercial sessions are delivered as efficiently as possible. If you are working to a launch or campaign deadline, I’ll factor that into the planning from the start.

Will the images be ready for website and marketing use?

Yes. Everything is professionally edited and delivered ready to use across your website, print, social media and advertising. If you need specific crops, formats or banner-friendly versions, that can be built in too.

How does pricing work for commercial photography?

Commercial work is priced around what you need and how the imagery will be used, including session time, scale, locations, deliverables and whether video is included. If you tell me what you are planning, I’ll recommend the best-fit option rather than upselling you.
