My Approach.

So you are at the point of looking to find your wedding photographer in Inverness.

Where do you start?

When planning your dream wedding at The Glen Mhor Hotel, one of the most important decisions to make is the choice of season. Each season offers unique charm and ambience, allowing you to tailor your wedding to your preferences. Let's explore the seasonal options and how you can make the most of them:

Winter Wonder:

With shorter days, twinkling lights, and the possibility of snow or frost, a winter wedding at The Glen Mhor Hotel can be enchanting. Embrace the winter theme by incorporating rich, deep colours like burgundy, navy, emerald green, and metallic accents in gold or silver. To enhance the cosy and romantic atmosphere, include seasonal elements such as pinecones, evergreen branches, and candles.

Spring Spectacle:

Spring weddings at The Glen Mhor Hotel offer a fantastic opportunity to celebrate love amidst nature's rebirth. You can tailor your wedding to your style while embracing the vibrant and fresh spirit of the season. Choose from various colours, including pastel shades like blush pink, mint green, lavender, and soft yellow. Alternatively, go for bolder, vibrant colours that reflect the blooming flowers and foliage. Incorporate natural elements like branches, twigs, and moss for centrepieces and decor to create a rustic and whimsical atmosphere.

Summer Delight:

Summer weddings are a popular choice thanks to the warm weather, longer daylight hours, and the plethora of venue and theme options. The Glen Mhor Hotel's outdoor spaces, like gardens, are perfect for summer weddings. Bright and cheerful colours often dominate summer celebrations, with options like coral, turquoise, lemon yellow, or hot pink. You can also opt for pastel colours to evoke a soft and romantic feel.

Autumn Charm:

For couples who adore the cosy, warm, and rustic vibes of autumn, The Glen Mhor Hotel provides the perfect setting. With its vibrant foliage, pleasant temperatures, and rich colour palette, autumn offers a stunning backdrop for your love story. Consider hosting your wedding in a venue that showcases the beauty of autumn, such as a barn, vineyard, orchard, or a historic estate with a garden filled with colourful leaves.

In summary, when planning your Inverness wedding at The Glen Mhor Hotel Wedding Venue, consider the season that resonates with your vision and style. Each season has its unique appeal, and by embracing its characteristics, you can create a memorable wedding experience.

When searching for a wedding photographer to capture your special day at a venue like The Glen Mhor Hotel in Inverness, there are several important considerations to remember. Here are some hints and tips to help you find the right photographer:

  1. Start Early: Begin your search for a wedding photographer well in advance. Don't wait until the last minute.
  2. Budget: Determine your budget for wedding photography. It's essential to know how much you're willing to spend on this service, as prices can vary significantly.
  3. Style and Preferences: Consider the type of photography you prefer. Some photographers specialize in traditional, posed shots, while others focus on a more photojournalistic, candid style. Look through portfolios to see if their style matches your vision.
  4. Research Photographers: Use online resources, like wedding photography directories and social media, to find photographers in the Glen Mhor hotel area. Read reviews and view their portfolios to get a sense of their work.
  5. Meet in Person: Schedule meetings or consultations with potential photographers. Meeting in person can help you understand their personality and whether you'll feel comfortable with them on your wedding day.
  6. Ask for Recommendations: Seek recommendations from friends, family, or other couples who have been married at The Glen Mhor Hotel. They may have valuable insights on photographers who have experience with the venue.
  7. Check for Experience: Look for photographers with experience shooting weddings at The Glen Mhor Hotel or similar venues. Familiarity with the location can be an advantage.
  8. Availability: Ensure the photographer you choose is available on your wedding date. Photographers can get booked quickly, so confirm their availability as early as possible.
  9. Ask Questions: Don't hesitate to ask questions about their equipment, backup plans, and any additional services they offer.
  10. Contracts and Terms: Always read and understand the agreement thoroughly. Ensure it covers the services, costs, and any contingencies, such as what happens if the photographer falls ill.
  11. Engagement Shoot: Consider having an engagement or pre-wedding photo shoot with your chosen photographer. It's an excellent way to get comfortable with them and their style before the big day.
  12. Discuss the Shot List: Talk to the photographer about your specific requirements, like family portraits or moments you want to capture. Make sure they are willing and able to accommodate your requests.
  13. Review Their Portfolio: Carefully review their portfolio to ensure you like their work. Please pay attention to the quality of images, composition, and various lighting conditions.
  14. References: Ask for references from past clients to get an idea of the photographer's reliability and professionalism.
  15. Personality Fit: Choose a photographer you feel comfortable with. They will be with you throughout your special day, so a good rapport can make the experience more enjoyable.

Remember that choosing the right wedding photographer is a crucial decision. They will play a significant role in capturing the memories of your special day, so take your time and make an informed choice.

Finding the ideal wedding photographer can be daunting, but with some research and planning, you can find the perfect fit for your special day. The first step is to look at the photographer's portfolio and ensure their style matches the aesthetic you're looking for. It's also important to read reviews and ask for recommendations from friends and family who have used a photographer in the past. Once you've narrowed your list of potential photographers, could you meet with them in person or schedule a video call to discuss your vision for the day and see if your personalities mesh well? Finally, remember to discuss pricing and ensure that it fits within your budget. By taking these steps, you'll be able to find a wedding photographer who can capture all of the precious moments of your special day in a way that you'll cherish for years to come.

As a documentary photographer, I aim to capture natural moments throughout 90% of the day. My only influence comes during the family formal group photos, which I complete promptly after the ceremony to avoid lingering. Following that, I whisk the couple away to a chosen location for their bridal portraits, providing them with a precious hour of alone time. During this period, I added my creative touch to produce stunning images that will proudly adorn their walls, with the rest of the day spent capturing the speeches, candid photos, and the first dance. If time permits, I may take the couple for twilight photos to round off the evening.

I am giving you an insight into how I work as an Inverness wedding photographer.

Full-day coverage starts at bridal preparations and continues through to the first dance. Once you have your wedding photographs, I will design your wedding album. It usually takes around 8-10 weeks to arrive.
