Are You Planning Your Elgin Wedding at Innes House Wedding Venue?

Give some consideration to which season you'd like to get married.

  • Winter with shorter days, twinkly lights and snow or frost. Embrace the winter theme with your decor. Consider using rich, deep colours like burgundy, navy, emerald green, and metallic accents like gold or silver. Incorporate seasonal elements such as pinecones, evergreen branches, and candles to create a cosy and romantic ambience.
  • Spring Spring weddings offer an excellent opportunity to celebrate love amidst the beauty of nature's rebirth. Tailor your wedding to your style and preferences while incorporating the vibrant and fresh spirit of the season, offering a wide range of colour options. Pastel shades like blush pink, mint green, lavender, and soft yellow are popular choices. You can also opt for bolder, vibrant colours that reflect the blooming flowers and foliage. Use natural elements like branches, twigs, and moss for centrepieces and decor to create a rustic and whimsical atmosphere.
  • Summer weddings are popular for couples, thanks to the warm weather, longer daylight hours, and a wide range of venue and theme options. Outdoor venues like gardens, beaches, vineyards, and barns are excellent choices for summer weddings. Bright and cheerful colours often dominate summer weddings. Consider using vibrant hues like coral, turquoise, lemon yellow, or hot pink.
  • Pastel colours can also work well in the summer, evoking a soft and romantic feel.
  • Autumn weddings are popular for couples who love this season's cosy, warm, and rustic vibes. With its vibrant foliage, pleasant temperatures, and rich colour palette, autumn provides a beautiful backdrop for celebrating love. Consider hosting your wedding in a venue that showcases the beauty of autumn, such as a barn, vineyard, orchard, or a historic estate with a garden filled with colourful leaves.

Once you've decided upon this, it's time to contact the venue to check availability and book with them.

So you are looking for a wedding photographer in Elgin to photograph your special day at Innes House.

When looking for an Elgin wedding photographer to capture your special day at a venue like Aswanley, there are several important considerations to remember. Here are some hints and tips to help you find the right photographer.

Begin your search for a wedding photographer well in advance. Couples will book the best photographers a year or more in advance.

Determine your budget for wedding photography. It's essential to know how much you're willing to spend on this service, as prices can vary significantly. A more experienced photographer with a distinct style will command a higher fee as they will likely have training, be part of a professional body and have obtained qualifications.

Consider the style of photography you prefer. Some photographers specialize in traditional, posed shots, while others focus on a more photojournalistic, candid style. Look through portfolios to see if their style matches your vision.

Use online resources, like wedding photography directories and social media, to find photographers in the Aswanley area. Read reviews and view their portfolios to get a sense of their work.

Arrange to meet with potential photographers, as meeting in person can help you understand their personalities and whether you'll feel comfortable with them on your wedding day.

Seek recommendations from friends, family, or other couples who have been married at Innes House. They may have valuable insights on photographers who have experience with the venue.

Look for photographers who have experience shooting weddings at Aswanley or similar venues. Familiarity with the location can be an advantage.

Ensure the photographer you choose is available on your wedding date. Popular photographers can get booked quickly, so confirm their availability as early as possible.

Consider having an engagement or pre-wedding photo shoot with your chosen photographer. It's an excellent way to get comfortable with them and their style before the big day.

Carefully review their portfolio to ensure you like their work. Please pay attention to the quality of images, composition, and whether the photographer has shot in various lighting conditions.

Choose an Elgin photographer you feel comfortable with. They will be with you throughout your special day, so a good rapport can make the experience more enjoyable.

Remember that choosing the right wedding photographer is a crucial decision. They will play a significant role in capturing the memories of your special day, so take your time and make an informed choice.

Why Is Wedding Photography Important?

Wedding photography is an essential element of any wedding celebration, and it holds a special place in the hearts of couples. While many aspects contribute to the success of a wedding, photography often stands out as one of the most cherished. In this article, we will explore why wedding photography is so important and why not to overlook it when planning your big day.

A wedding is a momentous occasion, and it's a day filled with beautiful and emotional moments that you'll want to cherish for the rest of your life. Wedding photography serves as a means to capture and preserve these precious memories. Through skilful photography, you can freeze in time the laughter, tears, and love that you and your partner share on this special day. Your wedding album becomes a tangible record of your love story that you can revisit whenever you like.

One of the most remarkable aspects of wedding photography is its ability to transport you back to the moment. Each photo tells a unique story, and when you flip through your wedding album or view your online gallery, you can relive the day, re-experiencing the joy, excitement, and emotions that made your wedding so special.

Your wedding is not just about you and your partner; it's a celebration shared with family and friends who have supported and loved you throughout your journey. Wedding photography allows you to share these beautiful memories with those who were part of your big day, as well as those who couldn't attend. It's a way to include them in the celebration and show appreciation for their presence and love.

Wedding photographers are artists who use their skills and creativity to capture the essence of your day. They play with light, composition, and emotion to create images that are not just photographs but works of art. The images they produce are a testament to the passion and talent they bring to their craft. From candid shots to carefully choreographed poses, wedding photography combines the technical and artistic aspects to create stunning visual memories.

Your wedding photographs are a part of your legacy. They are something that future generations of your family can cherish and connect with. These images are a visual representation of your love story, and they will be passed down from generation to generation, helping your descendants understand and appreciate their history.

While it's tempting to rely on smartphones and guest photos, professional wedding photography ensures high-quality, consistent, and reliable results. Professional photographers have the right equipment, experience, and expertise to capture your day in the best possible way. They can handle challenging lighting conditions, work with various environments, and deliver images worth treasuring.

Professional wedding photographers excel at capturing the fleeting moments and intricate details that make your wedding unique. They can freeze a teardrop on your cheek, the glint in your eyes as you exchange vows, or the intricate lace on your dress. These small details and candid moments often go unnoticed in the whirlwind of the day but can be beautifully captured through photography.

In the grand scheme of wedding planning, photography is not merely an accessory but a vital part of the celebration. It holds a unique place as the keeper of memories, an artistic expression, and a way to share your joy with loved ones. By investing in professional wedding photography, you ensure your special day is captured in all its glory, allowing you to relive those cherished moments for years. Please don't underestimate the importance of wedding photography, for it's a treasure trove of memories that will last a lifetime.

After the dust settles on your wedding day, what will you remember? There will be little snippets, but these will fade over time. Having a wedding photographer from Inverness who has seen it all before and tuned into capturing those little moments is worth the investment. Combined with one of my wedding packages with an album, you will have those cherished moments forever to pass down the generations.

Wedding Photography - My Approach.

Telling other people's stories in the most beautiful way possible.

Choosing your wedding photographer is challenging, and researching first is essential. It's a big decision as your wedding photographer will play a significant role on your wedding day, from the morning as you get ready until you dance the night away.

The right photographer is an essential decision that can significantly impact the memories of your wedding day. As you explore different photographers and their portfolios, remember the balance between creativity and timeless moments.

I always tell my couples that 90% is natural, candid moments. For the rest of the day, I guide them into the best light or scene to create something unique which will hang with pride of place on the wall or be centre spread in their wedding album.

How would I describe my wedding photography?

I'm a storyteller. I am capturing the story of your wedding day - all the emotion, drama and love. I don't just take pictures; I make them.

What do I mean by this?

Weddings are challenging one-off events. You can't just do it again because the light or weather differs from what you want. So, I aim to capture the most stunning wedding photos for you, and as such, I will guide you on the day into some beautiful light.

I have photographed many incredible weddings, and my galleries show a selection of these. If you wish to see more of my portfolio from your chosen venue or an alternate one with a similar style, then I'd be more than happy to arrange a chat over a coffee to discuss things further.

On Your Wedding Day.

I will work to capture your day as it unfolds naturally in a documentary style. As for your formal family portraits, I will ask for guidance as you know who will be the important people at your wedding and who we must capture on the day.

Following this, I will have some time with you both alone to capture some special moments of you. This time alone allows you both to have a short while together for the first time as a married couple and a little reflection before we head back to your guests. Each wedding is about you, the couple. Every wedding follows the same format, but every wedding is different. You are both unique, and I will reflect your individuality in my photography of you.

After Your Wedding Day.

Photographing your wedding day is just the beginning of my journey. There is the massive task of sorting through all your images and then starting the process of editing and creating the story of your wedding day.

There is great care taken at this stage to create a stunning set of photographs which will sit and look together as a complete story of your wedding day in a beautiful hand-crafted wedding album, but some of which can also stand alone and become beautiful works of art framed on your wall for a lifetime. It's essential to have some form of physical printed work to preserve the longevity of your wedding photographs for generations to come.
