Are You Planning Your Wedding In Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire?

Having been involved in Aberdeen weddings for several years, I can give some advice.

When deciding on the perfect time to tie the knot, it's essential to consider the season that resonates with your vision of the ideal wedding day. Each season brings its distinct charm, offering many opportunities to craft a wedding that reflects your personality and preferences.

Winter Wonderland Weddings:

Winter weddings encapsulate the magic of shorter days, sparkling lights, and the serene beauty of snow or frost. Embrace the winter wonderland theme by infusing your decor with enchantment. Consider a colour palette featuring rich, deep hues like burgundy, navy, and emerald green and the elegance of metallic accents in gold or silver. Remember to incorporate seasonal elements like pinecones, evergreen branches, and candles to conjure a cosy and romantic ambience.

Springtime Love Blossoms:

Spring weddings offer a splendid opportunity to celebrate your love amid nature's grand revival. Customise your wedding to match your unique style, all while embracing the vibrant and rejuvenating spirit of the season. The colour spectrum is your canvas, with pastel shades such as blush pink, mint green, lavender, and soft yellow being popular choices. For a bolder statement, embrace the vivid colours mirroring blooming flowers and lush foliage. Enhance your decor with natural elements like branches, twigs, and moss to craft a rustic and whimsical atmosphere.

Summer Soirees Under the Sun:

Summer weddings are loved for the warmth, extended daylight, and endless possibilities for venue and theme selections. Opt for outdoor venues like gardens, beaches, vineyards, or charming barns for the ultimate summer celebration. The colour palettes of summer weddings radiate with brightness and cheerfulness, featuring vibrant hues such as coral, turquoise, lemon yellow, or hot pink. If you desire a softer touch, pastel shades can also work their magic in the summer, infusing your day with a romantic and gentle ambience.

Autumn's Cozy Embrace:

For those who cherish the warm, rustic, and snug ambience of autumn, autumn weddings are a top choice. The vibrant foliage, mild temperatures, and rich colour palette set the stage for a captivating celebration of love. Consider venues that showcase the breathtaking beauty of autumn, such as rustic barns, scenic vineyards, picturesque orchards, or historic estates adorned with gardens with colourful leaves.

By tailoring your wedding season to your preferences, you can ensure a truly unique and unforgettable experience for you and your guests.

Once you've decided upon this, it's time to contact the venue to check availability and book with them.

My Approach.

Are you searching for the perfect Aberdeen wedding photographer to capture your special moments at the Macdonald Pittodrie House Hotel? You've come to the right place!

When embarking on the journey to find the ideal photographer for your wedding, it's essential to start on the right foot. Your first destination should be the almighty Google search engine. Enter the search term "Aberdeen Wedding Photographer" and watch as a curated list of talented photographers in Aberdeen unfolds before your eyes.

Now, let's delve into selecting the photographer who will beautifully encapsulate your big day. Take your time to peruse through the portfolios of these skilled professionals. A photographer's portfolio provides a window into their unique style and body of work, allowing you to gauge if it resonates with your vision for the day.

For me, as an Aberdeen wedding photographer, my approach primarily leans towards a documentary style, where I seize those fleeting, often overlooked moments throughout the day. These are the instances that truly define the essence of your wedding. However, I exercise my creative prowess during the family group portraits and bridal portraits sessions when I craft something extraordinary, a piece of art that will take pride on your wall, forever reminding you of your special day.

Moreover, I understand the importance of timing and lighting, so I suggest venturing out for a twilight or sunset photo session. These magical moments provide the perfect backdrop for creating mesmerising, unique images you'll treasure forever.

So, as you embark on your quest for an Aberdeen wedding photographer, remember the power of Google in connecting you with many talented professionals, each with their unique styles and offerings. And remember, when you choose me as your photographer, you're not just getting someone to capture your day; you're gaining an artist dedicated to preserving the most precious moments of your wedding in a truly exceptional way.

Why Is Wedding Photography Important?

Having a professional Aberdeen wedding photographer capture your wedding photographs at MacDonald Pittodrie House Hotel is an investment worth making.

I have now added hybrid wedding photography as an option to my packages (which are included in the Premium). What is Hybrid wedding photography? It's where I switch between photography and video highlights, which is easily achieved by having mounted video cameras ( on and off camera), and my cameras are capable of the best video as well. It doesn't replace a full videographer but gives up to a 10-minute highlight film to music without audio. For full details on my hybrid wedding photography, please visit this blog.

After the dust settles on your wedding day, what will you remember? There will be little snippets, but these will fade over time. Having a wedding photographer from Aberdeen who has seen it all before and tuned into capturing those little moments is worth the investment. Combined with one of my wedding packages and an album, you will have those cherished moments forever to pass down the generations.

My work as an Aberdeen wedding photographer starts when you first enquire about my pricing or availability. I will find out more about your plans over a coffee. An in-person meeting lets us get to know one another and determine whether we will be comfortable around each other. As your wedding photographer, I will spend a large part of your day with you at MacDonald Pittodrie House Hotel, and to get the best photos, we need to be comfortable around each other. From booking until your wedding day, I am always happy to answer any questions you may have.

I will arrive at MacDonald Pittodrie House Hotel on the wedding day for bridal preparations, usually around 10 a.m. I generally stay with the bride until the ceremony, but with MacDonald Pittodrie House Hotel couples on site, I also have the opportunity to capture the groom getting ready. Once the wedding is complete, I let the bride and groom have a few minutes with friends and family with a glass of bubbly before capturing a big group photo with all the guests, followed by the family group photos. With these complete, it's time to photograph the couple's portraits and a chance for me to create something unique that will feature in their wedding album or on some wall art. Before the meal, we have the speeches, and it's a chance to get some laughter and a natural reaction as the party members recall the couple's stories. The final part of my day is usually cutting the cake, followed by the first dance.

My day ends once I'm home by backing up the photos at least twice. From here, it's sorting out the pictures and removing any that don't make the grade before the editing starts. Editing is where I create beautiful photographs in keeping with my style and brand. Once complete and uploaded to your online gallery, you can select the photos for your wedding album.
